DIY | Cute pencil holder for college

July 21, 2015

College is 23 days away for me and I know most of us are still trying to figure out what to get for our area at school. I decided to use my mason jars in my room and give them a little twist. You can do a lot of DIYs with mason jars.   I decided to spray paint them the colors of my bedding area.

What you will need:

  1. Spray paint (doesn’t matter what color)
  2. Mason jars (I only painted 2)
  3. Tape (I suggest blue painters tape)
  4. Scissors
  5. Old wrapping paper (or news paper)

Spray paint isn’t expensive. Really, this whole DIY isn’t expensive at all. Everything together would probably cost you around $25.

First:  Put your tape around the middle part of the jar

Spray away!!!

I also painted the screw top as well. I like it because it makes it a little more fun.

Wait for about 2 to 3 hours for everything to dry. You want to make sure that it’s dry before you place it on any furniture in your house.

After everything is dry, remove the tape gently from the mason jars.

Then TADA!!! You have super cute pencil holders for your dorm! You can place anything in them. I put pencils and sharpies in one and makeup brushes in the other.
